I am inspired by imagination and our ability to create environments and scenarios that reflect reality and fulfill fantasy. I gravitate toward work that is rooted in reality, but distorts expectations and reinvents something familiar to be original and new.
I’m always pushing myself to try new ways of working and to explore new lines of thinking. With this in mind, I have worked with wood, steel, ceramics, fabrics, watercolor, ink, and digitally, in both 2D and 3D formats. I have also experimented with animation and hand-drawn GIFS.
I have a BS in Biology and Classics from Union College (‘08) and a MFA in Illustration Practice from the Maryland Institute College of Art (‘16). I have worn several hats professionally, including artist, shop technician, professor, and web developer. Currently I work in Baltimore, MD as a software engineer, creating art in my free time.
